Hello and welcome,

This is already integrated in WinReducer =

--> In system tab you will find a "Users Folders" tab, go in it then you could choose all users folders you need to change to a new path.

--> TAKE CARE : if you change your users folders, you need to create all new folders before launching your windows installation, otherwise you will get an unrecoverable error during installation.

Regards.

I think he/she meant the ability to rename the program files folders and windows under C:\

This is really good security wise, especially Trojans/viruses/bad software that install on default paths, or search default paths.
I use to do with with windows Xp through winnt.sif
But sometimes can cause problems with badly written software that has paths hardcoded,

Also, if the user changes folder paths if winreducer doesn't already, then it should create those folder automatically for the user based on the path they have said.

Hey,

I think that everything that Windows is capable to change, is safe to use (like changing users folders in WinReducer) ... but all others are not safe to do for stability, security, .... So for me everything can't be done without consequences ... Wink

You can insert two options inside the autounattend.xml without needing to create the profile folder...
These lines need to be added to the Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup section.

Code:

        <FolderLocations>
              <ProfilesDirectory>D:\Users</ProfilesDirectory>
              <ProgramData>D:\ProgramData</ProgramData>
         </FolderLocations>

You do, however, need to make sure that you create and format the D drive during setup - again, if you really wanted to, this can be done inside the autounattend file (but I generally do that manually, just to be safe)

The point previously stated still applies if you change the location of any other system folders, such that they are located outside the Users folder, then you'll need to create those folders, but that can be added to a batch file.
