I am having some troubles, I manager to get all software except the 7zip. I install the 9.20 version however it says that I am using an old version of 7zip, but I am using the latest one.

You need 9.30,latest beta version.

i am not yet tested it, cause i am not plan to installing some windows update

Hi bay12.
You should ALWAYS integrate the updates BEFORE you "Reduce" your install.wim with WinReducer. Otherwise you can run into problems with your image, or the problems you are currently experiencing.

The updates that failed, could have failed because you removed somthing and now you are trying to integrate an update for something that does not exist in your wim anymore.

 HI theKramer, thanks for the advice. I know that, you already told me, but with version 0.50 i succeeded to reduce install.wim without errors when installing updates, but i don't remember the component i deleted and now i'm trying  to do the same thing with 0.75

Hi all,
after various builds, finally i made a stable build with no updates integration. Installed in virtualbox and all went ok. Then i integrated some updates with dism in install.wim and reinstalled in virtualbox to try, but when windows reebot after the end of setup, it prompt me that some file is corrupted. whats wrong? any suggestion?

i confirm that if we integrate updates, then nothing go well..i think there is a problem during lite operation of winreducer

I found some sort of weird bug, I am inspecting it further.
It seems like after reducing windows, when I update, i get thos 6+ number of updates, I make the updates ( shown in update history ) however after reboot when I search for updates, the updates are shown again like I never updated, and installs them again and so on.

i found i bug: started from a new image, integrated updates, and then used winreducer, but after windows setup finishes, i have a popup that says: component error and installation stops.

Good news, i made a new try:
integrated all updates except the KB2821895, then reduced and all is working. 
So it seem the problem is installing this update KB2821895

In the last build, (i didn't removed disk cleanup) if i try to open disk cleanup, windows prompt me that the file vssapi.dll is missing. Does anyone knows which component i must keep to avoid this problem?

I am still unable to find what brakes the windows update process.

 event log says 0x80070002

i used winreducer 0.75 ONLY to integrated updates (i deleted kb2821895), but when i tried to install on vistualbox, at certain point i received this error: 0x80070570, and installation stop

Can you add an info tip in Volume Shadow Copy about this, or else protect the vssapi.dll file.

Yes, I think that the best choice will be to add it in the "Preset - Windows Media Video Core", and I will rename it in something like "Protect Software Installation" ...

Hi Winter.
I did a little bit of testing and found that you need to keep two files:
vssapi.dll
vsstrace.dll 

These are located in C:\Windows\system32 and C:\Windows\sysWOW64, however, I tested and disk cleanup runs with these files only in system32. So you need them in the system32 folder but not in sysWOW64 as disk cleanup ran ok without these files in sysWOW64.

The only thing I cannot test is if this affects the winSXS cache cleanup, as my machine is up to date with updates, so I will get back to you on this after patch Tuesday

Just checking in to report that Im running 0.75 on my main machine and everything is super fast and slick  


Windows uses less than 1GB of RAM at startup. Awesome  
This is with all my usual apps and drivers installed, so I am super happy  

Question, does WinReducer remove Windows Error Reporting, as I find that that can grow quite quickly and take up to 1GB of space....

 

And no, WinReducer does not support Windows Error Reporting but this could be done ...

yes, windows error reporting and windows defender entirely should be a feature request. Maybe in future builds?
