[SOLVED] Slimmingdown Windows 8.1 Pro (x64) with WREX-81.v1.2.3.0 : offlineServicing Bug

Hi,

Previously, i've some Trouble to "Slimmingdown Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (x64) using WinReducer EX70 - v1.1.8.0 ?"

i'd also had some Trouble to Slimmingdown Windows 8.1 Pro (x64) using WinReducer EX81 - v1.2.3.0 ?

* Installation Result "Windows could not apply unattend setting during pass [offlineServicing]"


FYi: for Windows 8.1 Pro (x86) work fine with the same preset? (i'd tried five times)







So, i'd appreciate any ideas or suggestions ?

it could be this problem i got some time ago

where is your winreducer folder located? maybe the path is to long, and so some files are left at the winsxs folder (if you choose to remove it)

so get a look at your boot and install.wim at Windows\winsxs . also if at the winreducer folder winreduer\work\mount some folders are left which are colled EXPERIMENTAL (they also could be located in your install.wim/boot.wim next to the WINDOWS folder
if yes delete the folders at windows\winsxs and copy the folders from the EXPERIMENTAL folder to the winsxs folder.

my winreducer folder located in "D:\Programs\WiNTools\WinReducer\WREX81", is it to long?

fyi: install.wim (x64) size not reduced much as (x86)



about 'boot and install.wim at Windows\winsxs' : i'll try soon as possible !

how about "Slimmingdown Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (x64) using WinReducer EX70 - v1.1.8.0 : Hung ("Hung (Not Responding)" : Features Cleanup --> Games - Chess" any ideas or suggestions ?

yes it could be. because when you want to slim down the winsxs folder the path is this long for an folder:

"D:\Programs\WiNTools\WinReducer\WREX81\Work\Mount\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.7601.18837_none_41e855142bd5705d"

and if such an folder got an file that name is as long as the folders name, you get more than 255 characters, which could result in not removing this folder/file and thats why winreducer got problems copying the files that are needed back to the winsxs folder (that was my problem some time ago)

And about the size difference between x86 and x64 size reduction ... I hope to understand correctly what you said, but this is normal because x64 is by definition larger (to keep x86 compatibility) than x86 : just look the default ISO size.

But don't worry next week there will be an important acceleration in the builds release for all EX-Series software ...

After i've done re-tested, finally it SOLVED !!! 

it's not on the path of "winreducer program", but on "EXPERiMENTAL folder" !
