Hi Winter,

I tried to integrate updates (latest update catalogue) and everything works fine, but I cannot activate Net Framework 3.5 from windows (enable/disable windows features). If I don't integrate the updates everything works fine (same wccf) so I think there might be a bug in winreducer.. Thanks!

Here's the wccf:

Edit: solved by removing all the optimizations in the last tab of winreducer..

Anyway I have other 2 questions:

1) I noticed that system restore points are not automatically enabled in my system (with the wccf posted above), is there something in winreducer that I may have touched? I have to manually enable them..
2) I see that there is a new March cumulative update available KB4089848, will winreducer download it or should winterstorm update the catalogue somehow?

Thanks!

i didnt see anything obvious in your wccf file. i thought it could be something at services or the acessories but you didnt change anything there.

so i could think that maybe its something at the registry tweak part, maybe one of the system once

if the update is not already part of the march update catalog, it will be probably added in the next one

You mean that witnerstorm needs to update the catalogue to be able to download that update? Can i download it directly from microsoft and put it in the updates folder of winreducer and integrate it?

By the way I checked also my company laptop and also there "system protection" is off, maybe it's something that activates itself whenever there is the need to create a system restore point, I dont know..

yes winterstorm need to add it so you could easy download it via winreducer, but you can also download it manually and put it into the update folder like you said, just switch the switch to ON for integration in winreducer

i cant really say much about the system protection since i always remove. maybe its off as default by microsoft and is scheduled in a service?

Just a heads up, I found what causes the installation error of net framework 3.5:

Integrate - Windows Updates Files Cleanup

If selected, installation of net framework 3.5 from windows will fail..

I hope @winterstorm2050 sees this Wink

hmm and it was fixed some while ago:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

so i will search to fix that also soon.

only this was so far breaking it:

EXPERT - WinSXS Folder Cleanup (install.wim)

i found a solution also for the install.wim component but it will take some time for winter to fix that since they are more than 2500 files and folders

Hi guys, it's me again.. Everything is working except my printer drivers (Epson SX235W).. Usually when I connect my printer, after a while windows installs the drivers and the software (Epson Scan) automatically, but now it doesnt do anything even though the printer is correctly recognized.. Withouth the software I can't do a printer cleaning..

so you mean printing workes just installing the Drivers does not work?

normally "Windows Drivers Download Support" is the compoonent you Need to Keep, but it could be that with newest updates this functions is again broken by i.e Windows Update Service, Windows Updates Files Cleanup, EXPERT - WinSXS Folder Cleanup (install.wim) or Update Orchestrator Service

Yes, I can print but in device management my printer is not recognized as EPSON SX235W but with another name, while in "devices and printers" it shows up as EPSON SX235W. Usually what happens is: the printer is recognized, then after a while the system tells me that there is an update and downloads the software automatically (this software includes Epson Scan an other things) but now it doesn't happen. I used this wccf and the only thing that changed from my usual installation that worked is that I integrated March updates..

Ok, I tried these setups:

1) ISO created with winreducer 1.9.12.0 with updates integration --> no printer software installation

2) ISO created with winreducer 1.9.12.0 with no updates integration --> no printer software installation

3) ISO created with winreducer 1.9.11.0 (older release) with updates integration --> no printer software installation

So I can say for sure that winreducer is the cause of the issue, but I don't know what is causing this bug.. The wccf file is always the one I posted before..

Hope @winterstorm2050 can shed some light on this!

Cheers Smile

Hello carlese,

I tried several times in the past days with different Windows 10 version ... and it worked as intended every time.

So, please take care at your ISO, your integrated updates, your integrated drivers which may result in a faulty customized ISO.

Have a nice day !

Tried with the new April Update ISO, still the same problem.. Winreducer breaks Epson software auto installation, while untouched ISO works just fine out of the box.. Same WCCF as usual!

I use your .wccf with my Wn10 R3 Pro without any problem related to .Net 3.5
I notice that your .wccf does not integrated the framework35, I assume you add it thru the the activation of functionnality setting
silly remark about that your .wccf disable Edge but why to enable/disable[SOLVED] [EX-100 - v1.9.12.0] [RS3 Build 16299.15] Integrate Updates Breaks Net Framework 3.5 Screen13

Hi, I don't have problems with net framework but with drivers auto installation like Epson drivers (automatically installed when connecting the printer). I may have found the solution this morning but I want to test more this afternoon. The problemĀ  is the two components that you highlighted:

Edge engine
Edge jscript engine

I kept these two components and now it seems to work fine.. I'll let you know later Wink
