I've worked on it and this what I need to keep :

EDIT : dedicated to theKramer ...
==> Based on the "Extreme Preset", I'm not able to decrease or increase screen luminosity using keyboard shortcut keys, I mean for the moment ...
- "Remove - Control Panels - Mobility Center"

- "Remove - Control Panels - View Available Networks (Files)"
- "Remove - Control Panels - Wireless Devices" (Need to see if it's really needed)
--> Detect and log to a router
- "Remove - Drivers - Network - Wireless" = Choose your driver according to your hardware
- "Remove - Drivers - Network - Wireless - Virtual"
- "Remove - Multimedia - Mobile PC (Mobility Center)"
- "Remove - Multimedia - Mobile PC (Presentation)"
- "Remove - Multimedia - Mobile PC (Sensors)"
- "Remove - Multimedia - Mobile PC (SideShow)"

Is there really a need to keep mobility center? I've always removed it, and havent had any issues on my laptops.

So, if I want to keep wifi, I cant remove any drivers for other wireless adapters??

It's only needed in a general use, so if you don't want it, you could remove them but you loose these functionalities ...aymanalz wrote:Is there really a need to keep mobility center? I've always removed it, and havent had any issues on my laptops.

No, I've updated my post ... You could remove all unneeded wireless drivers, you just need the one for your hardware.theKramer wrote:So, if I want to keep wifi, I cant remove any drivers for other wireless adapters??

When you are in the "WinReducer Remover" window (Chap. 6 in "HowTo.pdf" file) or "Preset Editor" (to easily configure it) :
1. Use the "LOAD" button, then choose the preset you downloaded (or created).
2. Don't forget to configure everything you need, especially drivers or language (included Unattended part), because by default it's configured for English language.

Re: Laptop

I find it takes quite a few hours, especially if performing in a VM, so, no, dont worry, unless you get an error message

Re: Laptop

@protocold: You could find an optimization guide in the "ReadMe.pdf" file provided in the winreducer zip package. And if you want an idea, I'm using a SSD with an Intel core i5 CPU with a VMware Player virtual Machine and it takes me 1H15 with the "Extreme" preset. And as I mentioned in the schedule for 2014, I will improve the speed in few months (June or July).

I ran windows updates after installing this. How can I manually remove the downloaded updates files? They are taking up space...

No. cleanmgr is not available.
BUT. I managed to delete the files in folder in Windows\SoftwareDistribution and that seems to work.

Hello,
The preset is available, and compatible with v1.21, so it have all recent changes included ... I've done my best to create a good preset but you need to carefully read the text file in the zip package (or read the first post in this thread, because you will have some settings to adapt to your own needs before "APPLY" your changes.
The most important points are : "configure Printers and Scanners drivers", and unattended tab options ...
